What is the difference between a Heat Pump and a Heat Strip?

Simply put, a heat strip is an air conditioner that uses an electric heat strip for your heating needs.

 

A heat pump is an air conditioner that has a reversing valve, instead of the heat coming out of the back, the reversing valve reverses the cycle and it now comes out of the front, making your air conditioner a heat.

 

Both put out heat and both have air conditioning. Heat pumps use less energy as heat strips which is the last difference.
